Social Literacy Hub: Fostering Empathy, Connection, and Kindness

Questions, Creativity & Inspiration—Hayley’s Time at Edwardstown Primary

On May 16, 2025, Hayley visited Edwardstown Primary School for an engaging and dynamic session on storytelling. Students eagerly participated, asking thoughtful questions and diving into the creative process behind “Something A Little Different.” The class was filled with energy, curiosity, and inspiration as Hayley shared insights into bringing stories to life.

This session highlighted the magic of storytelling, giving students a firsthand look at how ideas evolve into published works. The excitement and interaction made for a memorable experience, showcasing the importance of creativity and expression in learning.

The Magical Tram: MT’s Journey of Social Literacy

At the heart of Hayley Frazer’s work is The Magical Tram, or “MT” as he proudly calls himself. MT isn’t just a tram—he’s a lively, spirited character who embodies the values of connection, kindness, and resilience. With a cheerful “Ding, ding!” and a twinkle in his headlights, MT takes readers on a whimsical journey filled with heartfelt lessons about empathy and understanding.

Through MT’s adventures with Clem, the dedicated conductor, readers explore themes of social literacy in engaging and imaginative ways. The Magical Tram highlights how small acts of kindness and meaningful connections can create lasting ripples of positivity.

"The Magical Tram, waving, smiling, and full of energy, comes over the hill, ready to collect Clem—the Magical Tram Conductor—at the Super Cool Tram Stop, as he shoves his list of careers into his conductor bag."

  • Demonstrates Empathy: MT shows how understanding others’ feelings and perspectives strengthens relationships.
  • Teaches Resilience: Clem and MT’s journey inspires readers to embrace life’s ups and downs with courage and optimism.
  • Encourages Kindness: MT’s infectious spirit reminds us how simple acts of kindness can make the world brighter.

MT’s adventures offer a fun and meaningful way for readers of all ages to explore social literacy. By weaving these principles into the heart of the story, Hayley Frazer creates a tale that entertains, educates, and inspires.
