Hayley’s grandfather would start his career at the Aldgate railway station, around the age of fifteen. He would begin as a junior porter during the war years, a time when Station Masters lived on the station, a fact that would come in very handy when Clem forgot how to bring the train in!

THE LAST DAY OF TRAMS
The trio travel down south along the Glenelg line, watching young Clem prepare for his final tram journey to Prospect.
On that warm, sunny Sunday in 1958, Adelaide’s trams ceased operation — and Conductor 647 served as motorman on the last Prospect run. Now the Magical Tram carries him back to this special moment in Memory Lane, allowing them to remember this special moment in Adelaide’s history.
Thanks for joining us on The Magical Tram: A Journey Down Memory Lane. Clem, MT, and the dog from Mitcham hope you enjoyed your time here. We loved having you aboard for this SALA adventure!
