Tram Stop 9: The Mystical Path to Roxby Downs Community Library
The Magical Tram, with Tram Conductor 647 and a special passenger, begins its journey from the Municipal Tramways Trust (MTT) City Depot, a place filled with memories of days gone by. The City Depot, located around the corner from Victoria Square in Angas Street, was a central hub for Adelaide’s tram network. As they set off, the tram is filled with anticipation and excitement, ready to explore new horizons.
The tram travels through the bustling city, passing by iconic landmarks and familiar sights. Tram Conductor 647 often drove this line through North Adelaide, Prospect, and Enfield, showcasing the diverse and vibrant communities along the way. As the tram approaches the edge of the city, it moves onto the quieter suburbs, where the hustle and bustle of the city fades into the distance as it enters the countryside.
Along the way the journey becomes one of adventure and creativity, as the tram passes through the stunning landscapes of the outback, where the red earth and vast skies create a mesmerizing backdrop as the tram continues the trip North.
The Roxby Downs library’s involvement in Hayley’s project has enriched the tram journey, fostering a sense of community and shared learning. During Hayley’s first presentation, the library displayed ‘Something A Little Different’ at the front counter, symbolizing their commitment to Hayley’s project. The event was a success, with participants engaging excitedly with Hayley, her book “Something a Little Different,” and the “About Me” activity she provided. The library proudly displays both of Hayley’s books, “Something a Little Different” and “See the Kindness,” on their shelves, demonstrating their support and belief in Hayley’s work.
The Roxby Downs region itself adds a touch of magic to the journey. Known for its unique flora and fauna, the area is home to the Arid Recovery Reserve, where visitors can see native wildlife like bettongs and bilbies. The vast, open landscapes and the clear, starry skies at night create an enchanting atmosphere, perfect for a magical tram journey.
The Roxby Downs Community Library continues to be a pillar of knowledge and community engagement, who are looking forward to Hayley’s visit later in the year.
